BIKER BUILD-OFF CHALLENGE

This is a Biker Build-off using any of the Maisto 1:24th Scale Motorcycles. You must modify the bike in some manner. Just like the Biker Build-off on TV this will be a popular vote contest. First place will get a 1:24th scale trophy and a Jada 1:24th scale HomieRollerz Motorcycle. Second, third and fourth place will each get a Jada 1:24th scale HomieRollerz Motorcycle. See right for pictures of a typical 1:24th scale Maisto Motorcycle and pictures of the prizes.

See the pics of all the entries here

Contest Dates:
Entries due on November 6, 2005.
Peoples choice voting will be from November 7 to 16, 2005.

Rules:
1. You must start with a Maisto 1:24th scale motorcycle. You must modify it or detail it in some way. Adding detail to create a stock bike is acceptable. Any modified bike may be entered, even if it's an old build or if you have already posted a picture of it on the Hobby Heaven Message Board.

2. You must use the original frame and at least one other original part of your choice. If you modify the frame you must send in a picture of the frame before modification and after modification.

3. Using the frame and at least any one other part, you can then add any other parts to build your bike. You can use aftermarket, scratch built or any part from any kit or diecast. You can even use two or more Maisto bikes to create a monster! Basically, as far as the design of your bike goes………… anything goes.

4. You can enter only one bike in the build-off. Entries will include two pictures. One of the pictures will include a coin next to the bike to insure that it is 1:24th scale. We will show both pictures for everyone to see. E-mail your two digital pictures to Pat Redmond along with your name.
E-mail them to us anytime before November 6th, 2005.

5. Instructions on how to look at the entries and how to vote for your favorite will be posted later.

6. These bikes are not available from Hobby Heaven. And we don't want to post the names of the stores where you can buy these bikes. It would not be fair to Hobby Heaven. If you can't afford to buy a Maisto bike or you can't find one of these bikes at your local department or Hobby store, let me know and we'll get one to you for a small fee. Come on guys, they only cost about $3. Borrow some money from your kids………

7. Brian Nevitt, a Hobby Heaven Message Board Member, has modified these Maisto motorcycles many times and is willing to offer advice. Just leave him a message on the message board.

8. Now the hardest part. Don't post in-progress pictures or finished pictures of your bike on the Hobby Heaven Message Board. Otherwise everyone will know who is building what and the people's choice vote could turn into more of a board member popularity contest.

9. Pat Redmond will only allow everyone to see the pictures of the entries after November 6, 2005, when the voting starts. So send in your pictures anytime before November 6th.

10. Don't take pictures of your bike with familiar backgrounds that everyone on the message board has seen. When we vote, we don't want to know who built which bike.

11. If you wish you may include a sentence regarding how you built the bike and what details you added.

Remember, if you super-detail your Maisto motorcycle, spend 800 hours on your build and add $500 worth of parts and you know you have the best bike, don't be surprised if you don't win. This is people's choice contest. Winning will probably center around what people think looks cool. We can only vote on what we see in two digital pictures. This is not a critically judged contest. It's people's choice. It's supposed to be fun. It's supposed to be just like the biker build-offs that they show on TV. You know……. where the two builders love and respect each other so much that they really don't care who wins.

Good luck and have some fun..!!!!
