| Dear Show and Vendor Participants and all Donors | ||||
| Our 3rd Annual Cruisin' For A Cure held on September 28, 2002, was an overwhelming success! There were over 2,500 entries by the end of the show, and more than 15,000 enjoying the grounds of the Orange County Fair & Expo Center. In the end we raised $170,319! | ||||
| Our major corporate sponsors have been extremely supportive from our inception, and we are indebted to them for their support in the form of logistic support, funding and donations of personnel and product/services, and participation in the show, and wish to thank, Meguiar's, Dodge, Daimler/Chrysler, N.A.D.A. Appraisal Guides, Richard Hibbard Chevrolet, MagnaFlow, American Racing Wheels, Budnik Wheels, Edelbrock, Cruisin' T's, Hot Wheels Racing Team, Corvette Mike, and all the other 157 attending vendors too numerous to name individually. | ||||
| Thank you to the Crown Coach Fire Enthusiasts, the D.A.R.E. vehicles from various city police agencies, the Drive Against Prostate Cancer van for driving all the way from Washington, D.C. to help screen more than 533 men for prostate cancer, Dr. Aaron Spitz, and the Jonsson Cancer Center, Dick Bailey for a great job as our announcer, and Johnny Star and the Galaxy for the live music. This show is a labor of love by all those volunteers involved. Without the more than 100 volunteers who work more than 20 hours each for three days before the show, it is truly this team that makes the show flow so smoothly. Ross Kroenert who is my right arm, provides you the finest website with updated information, our quarterly newsletters, designs the colorful program, the mapping of our vendors and the cruise route, and Ross deserves a big thank you for a job well done, as well as his wife Jody, who is the most patient person in the world. We all work together as a great team. Anyone interested in becoming a volunteer next year, please feel free to call me or e-mail me. | ||||
| We also wish to thank Larry & Betty Volk and their team for making our opportunity drawings this year such a great success. There were a few small items left that were not claimed which were donated to the Veteran Stadium charity show to be held on November 3rd. | ||||
| Cruisin' For A Cure is truly about awareness and saving our men from prostate cancer. We tested more than 533 men for PSA, and we know the awareness is becoming more and more prominent. This year from the "stats" provided, we potentially saved 41 men from this deadly disease and we know they will be back with us again next year to enjoy the show! Many ask why I do not talk on stage, and my answer to that is that I become too emotional over what has been accomplished over the past three years, starting out to save just one life and so far we have saved 61 men and just the awareness alone is worth every single hour of work promoting this event! | ||||
| Again, thank you for participating and your generous support. We hope to see you again next year on September 27, 2003. Pre-registrations are flowing in daily and everyone is excited about next year's show! Don't miss out - the first 1,000 pre-registered receive Meguiar's Goody bags and wheel drawings. There are already 107 pre-registered entries! | ||||
| Sincere personal regards, | ||||
